Remote Payroll Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Remote Payroll Specialist to process high-volume, multi-state payroll while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll for an assigned employee population across multiple states.
• Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and data validation.
• Review timekeeping, deductions, tax withholdings, and payroll reports.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
• Support year-end processing, system upgrades, and special payroll projects.
• Maintain compliance with applicable state and local payroll tax requirements.
• Protect confidential employee and payroll information.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Experience with high-volume, multi-state payroll.
• Experience with a major payroll/HCM system preferred.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, filtering, and formulas.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
